Color Quilt

Every now and then, a project comes along that I enjoy every minute of.  Recently I was graced with one of these projects. I wanted to make a quilt for a friend whose husband works with Russ.  I'm kind of loving the chevron trend right now, so I wanted to try a chevron quilt, but it had to be colorful, so I decided to do primary colors + green and orange (she's having a boy so no pink or purple). I had a ball picking out the fabrics - 3 different prints of each color. I went by the rule of thumb "no theme fabrics, no animals, no letters/characters, etc." I didn't want the prints of the fabrics to compete for attention. I used a nice unbleached muslin as my in-between color and an off-white cotton flannel as my backing. Here's the result:
